Implant Treatment

Implant Treatment

A natural tooth has a visible part, dental crown, and another part, which rise of the gum and the maxillary bone, the root. Dental implant replaces the root and has an artificial crown. Losing one or more dental pieces can be solved putting dental implants which work as attached prosthesis and allow a total oral rehabilitation.

The dental surgery made with dental implants is not much harmful with gums and bone. It has two stages and the total treatment duration goes from 45 to 60 days.

There are two kinds of dental implant, all of these made with “bio-materials” not much harmful with tissues due to “bio-compatibility”.

Kinds of dental implant

Dental implants support strong pressures. So they are made in order not to deform being more flexible than the bone. Dental implants not undergo chemistry reactions with tissue or other elements that we have in our mouth and they don’t cause electricity if they are in contact with other metal. The doctor will decide what kind of dental implant is better for the patient.

Most of dental implants are made of titanium, these have cylindrical or conical shape like a screw. Nowadays we have zirconia implants, which are like titanium implants but a little more aesthetic due to its color.

Dental implant supports a dental crown which simulates a natural crown.
